Stilleben with child
The photographer Nathalie Edenmont creates similar compostions - but with "real world" dead animals instead of children. She has caused several scandals because she is said to have killed the animals and cut them in to pieces for her projects.
The series "Childish behavoir" is a comment on her work but expressed as a paradox. On one hand the works are much more provocative than her art, because it is children (not animals) that must have been cut up too to fit the vases. But on the other hand they are artificial children all made in computer programs in the same way that "Gollum" and "avatar" are - “no animal (or child) was hurt in the making of these pictures”.
